Culinary and Agritourism Studio

The Northeastern Oregon Culinary and Agritourism Studio took place in 2016 and focused on communities of Northeastern Oregon, including Union, Baker and Wallowa counties and was a partnership between Travel Oregon, Eastern Oregon Visitors Association and Northeast Oregon Economic Development District.

This tourism studio program was developed in response to the destination’s desire to develop high-quality culinary and agritourism based on regional assets.

Northeastern Oregon Culinary and Agritourism Studio highlights:

25 local tourism stakeholders and residents participated in a one-and-a half-day workshop in May of 2016 in La Grande. Workshop topics included Market Trends, Local Asset Identification, Culinary and Agritourism Market Development, Statewide and Regional Resources and Destination Building. The Northeast Oregon Economic Development District published an Agriculture and Culinary Tourism report in 2016.
The Northeastern Oregon community received funding from the United States Department of Agriculture, Travel Oregon and the Eastern Oregon Visitors Association to develop the Cove-Union Farm Loop in 2017.
